Development present :
AtJazz

Saturday 30th Aug 2008

Hello everyone!

Seeing as this summer is so utterly gash and we are all on the verge of boredom-ridden insanity, we’re going to do one-off Development party. Don’t worry, we won’t be throwing a beach party on salford quays, or a bbq in suburbs, we’re not that stupid. We’re going underground, back to basics in basements, under the streets where the rain can’t upset anyone’s flow.

It’s been a while since we did a party but we promised we’d be back for some one-off jigs so here we are. Hopefully you’ll still recognize us but we’ve all grown a summer turbo-tache, andy has taken up cross-dressing and chris, tom and mike are all big into yogawear this summer.

Anyway, on to the musik.

After careful considering of what to do, where and how… we decided that what was most important to us was finding a small space with a great soundsystem for our friends and regulars to reunite and rave, to the best possible soulful electronic music. So, we’re going to the Manchester institution that is The Roadhouse (the scene of one of the first big Under the Stairs parties, with Tortured Soul in 2005) and we’re taking with us one of the most exciting, prolific producers in the world at the moment, Martin Iverson aka AtJazz.

A Geordie by birth but now a resident of nearby Derby, AtJazz has been causing quite a stir recently. As well as a fantastic new album out on mantis recordings (featuring Robert Owens, Mark de clive Lowe and Clara Hill among others), he has worked with Robert Owens himself on Owen’s own new album on Compost, has remixes and releases on Innervisions and Sonar Kollektiv and of course the unforgettable Development anthem ‘Put it On’…

He’s a very tidy DJ too, with guest slots all over Europe including regular impressive appearances in Europe’s epicenter of electronic music, Berlin.

Joining AtJazz will of course be Development residents Tom Lynch, Chris Feinmann and Mike O’Mara. After a busy summer of getting drunk behind the decks of other people’s clubs, the lads are looking forward to unleashing some bangers.

Tickets are priced at a recession-sympathetic 6 quid but are limited due to the size of the venue… any remaining will go on the door at £8.

Get them on paypal here – Click Here for Paypal Tickets
Or in Piccadilly Records from next week onwards.

So come, join us once again, be merry and stay dry (although let’s secretly hope we’ll have better weather by the 30th august eh!)
